Content: Discussion of maps, methods of analysis, and online workspaces.


Instructions: Show slide show of maps and online workspace.


Materials: Computer, projector, and slide show.


Guiding Questions: What are mammals?  What are marine mammals?  Where do seals live in their natural habitat?  What is a natural habitat?  What does the map of the released seal show?  What does the map of the US census show?  What does the map of Long Island Sound show?  What does the map of Seal Haul-Out Sites show?  What do you think about how seals decide to live where they live?  What else do you know about mammals?  What online technology tools do you currently use and what do you do with them?  Have you submitted documents to teachers electronically before?
