Activity:  Continue developing concept map of seal and geography science in society as a personal path of development.


Pre-Activity:  Introduction to career paths and personal job choice based on talent and KSAs.


Do Now:  Continue adding concepts and connections to map.


Aim:  Prepare to share current version with other job groups.


Major Assignment:  Demonstrate commonalities and differences between career paths in science, as well as current classroom performance.


Processes, Skills, Goals:  Researching, analyzing, and presenting information.  Defining the roles in science.  The impact of science on society over time. 


Content:  Building society over time based on a common knowledge of fundamental science and the pursuit of common goals.


Instructions:  Ask students to add new materials to the concept maps (or re-do them, if appropriate) and explain them to the other groups.


Materials:  Prior concept maps, paper, writing implements.


Guiding Questions:  What did you find out new from your research?  From the other presenters?  How important is your job role in society?  What about your role as student, now?  What do all of the job roles expect from each other?  A code of ethics, and professional performance of duties.  


Homework:  Assemble a list of KSAs that a student in our class would need to have to obtain an entry level position in your field.  Perhaps write it as a job announcement.
